Firenze, 17.11.2017 - Nella tempesta mediatica provocata da una crisi finanziaria di General Electric i delegati prendono posizione.

“Alcune persone vedono un’impresa privata come una tigre feroce da uccidere subito, altri come una mucca da mungere, pochissimi la vedono com’è in realtà: un robusto cavallo che traina un carro molto pesante”. E’ questo un famoso aforisma di Winston Churchill, in cui le lavoratrici e i lavoratori del Nuovo Pignone si riconoscono appieno.

Sono quasi 200 anni che creiamo valore e portiamo utili a prescindere dalle proprietà che si sono avvicendate in tutte queste generazioni. Attualmente stiamo vivendo sotto una tempesta mediatica provocata da una crisi finanziaria di General Electric di cui noi non siamo né responsabili né corresponsabili. Appare chiaro che l’attenzione di cui siamo oggetto è chiaramente più usata per fini politici che per un vero interesse alle nostre vite e al nostro futuro: lo sappiamo bene, abbiamo una discreta esperienza in queste dinamiche.

In quasi due secoli, anche con le nostre lotte ed il nostro impegno sindacale, abbiamo costruito un polo tecnologico estremamente importante e ben radicato nel territorio italiano con una enorme flotta di macchine da gestire in tutto il mondo, clienti storici che si fidano di noi e nuovi prodotti in sviluppo su cui sono presenti investimenti di rilievo che rappresentano il nostro pane di domani e di tutta la filiera produttiva di cui ci serviamo.

Ogni frase che mette in dubbio tutto questo può penalizzarci a livello di immagine e complicare in parte i rapporti con i nostri clienti e il mercato a cui noi ci rivolgiamo.

In merito alla nostra uscita da General Electric, che rimane un’opzione tutta da verificare, proprio perché forti delle nostre capacità progettuali e tecnologiche e consci di un sapere produttivo difficilmente sostituibile, diciamo a tutti che non siamo impauriti. Certo, chiediamo ai vertici della nostra multinazionale, a cui da più di vent’anni abbiamo sempre portato utili, di decidere in fretta sul nostro futuro perché l’incertezza non giova a nessuno. Insomma, chiediamo di poter continuare quello che sempre abbiamo fatto bene: lavorare e lavorare con tranquillità.

Not enough people see it as a healthy horse, pulling a sturdy wagon”. This is a famous aphorism from Winston Churchill, in which many Nuovo Pignone employees do identify themselves with.

For almost 200 years we have been creating value and generating profits irrespectively of who owned the company through the generations. In this time of media storms that thrive on General Electric financial crisis we do not feel responsible nor co-responsible for, it is blatant how the focus on us is mere political manipulation of information rather than attention towards us, our lives and our future: we are aware of that, and have gained quite an experience on these dynamics.

Over two centuries we have built a technology center with our fights and our labor union commitment, that is deeply rooted in the Italian territory. We have an enormous installed fleet worldwide, a long history with customers that trust us and our product, NPIs that carry huge investments and are future daily bread for us and our supply chain.

Every sentence instilling doubt about all of this undermines our image and potentially jeopardizes the relationships with our customers and the market we deal with.

We are not frightened by General Electric opt-out clause, that is yet to be verified: we are strong in our design competences and capabilities around technology, and aware that our know-how in manufacturing equipment would be hardly replaceable. We do ask the top management of the corporation to whom we have always brought profit to make a quick decision about our future as no one benefits from this uncertainty. After all, we want to keep doing what we do best: work, and work serenely.
